The Good Sam Club is the world's largest recreational vehicle (RV) owner's club with a million members. Wisconsin, has 15,000 members alone. We offer a wide variety of services including Emergency Road Service, reduced rates at Good Sam Parks nationwide, reduced rates on MotorHome and Trailer Life magazines, special group travel and cruise rates, travel-oriented services such as mail forwarding, trip-routing, lost pet services, lost key service, etc. Good Sam also has discount RV financing and low-cost vehicle insurance.

In addition to enjoying these benefits, most local chapters (there are 24 in Wisconsin) help the needy or improve our community through volunteer services such as Highway Clean-up and Adopt-a-Park and by supporting Dogs for the Deaf, Special Olympics, and other such organizations. Chapters usually meet once a month from April or May through October, and many of us will meet for dinner during the winter just to keep in touch. In order to belong to a chapter we must first belong to The Good Sam Club and the Wisconsin Good Sam Organization. If you are interested in joining a local Chapter or have four or more camping friends and want to start a Good Sam Chapter please contact the Wisconsin State Director.

The Good Sam Club was organized to promote a greater interest and development of the principles of good camping; ecological awareness; decency; fellowship among campers; reverence for the woodlands, forests and wilderness areas that are our heritage; aid to fellow campers in emergency situations; to encourage safety in all situations; and to promote kindness for our fellow human beings and all wildlife throughout the world.

Good Samers, as we are called, pledge to leave campsites in better condition than we find them, permit faster vehicles to pass on grades, keep our RVs in safe condition, assist fellow RVers when possible and always wear a smile. (Thus our trade-mark of the smiling face.) Good Samers strive to live up to our name. Good Samaritans of our nation's highways. (A side note about Good Samers: we LOVE to eat out, so restaurants, be prepared.)

Wisconsin Good Sam Organization will be moving it's Samboree to a new location in 2009 to St. Croix Falls, WI., which will be June 18 through June 21, 2009 with Early Bird June 16 & 17 and the theme will be "North to Alaska".

The Good Sam Club welcomes all types of campers, whether you have a tent, pop-up, trailer, van, truck camper, mini-motor home, fifth wheel, or Class A motor home, and we encourage you to come to St. Croix Falls and see what a Samboree is all about. There will be vendors, games and seminars during the day. Every evening we will have entertainment exclusively for the Good Samers. Please come to our registration booth when you arrive.

We are looking forward to coming to St. Croix Falls in 2009 and hope to see you there. If anyone wants more information they should feel free to E-Mail Jean Goossen, Wisconsin State Director.
